Choquequirao, is a lost city where the Incas took refuge from 1536. Located in the Vilcabamba Valley - La Convencion in the rainforest at 3300 meters above sea level. This archaeological center is considered as important as Machupicchu. The journey begins in the city of Cusco. After 145 km of asphalt road and 10 km of paved road we arrive to the town of Cachora, where the 32 km road starts, surrounded by imposing landscapes, on the route we can also appreciate the flora and fauna of the Apurimac Canyon, the deepest in the world, until we arrive to the "Golden Cradle" of the Incas.

DAY 1: CUSCO - CACHORA - CHIQUISPA

Departure from Cusco at 6:00 am. Towards the town of Cachora (2950 m.a.s.l.) where we will have breakfast. We will follow a dirt road to the Capuliyoc viewpoint (2650 m.) where our muleteers will be waiting for us. From there we will have a view of the snow-capped Padreyoc (5775 masl), and we will observe the majesty of the great canyon of the Apurimac River.

We get ready to start our hike that in this case begins downhill, we will reach Chikiska (1900 m.). Where we will rest a few moments to wait for the afternoon and avoid the strong sun to continue down to "the beach" (1590 m.) which is nothing more than the Apurimac River. From there after crossing the bridge we will ascend to our camp Santa Rosa (1900 m.) 6 - 8 hs. Approximately.

DAY 2: CHIQUISCA - ROSALINA BEACH - SUNCHUPAT

After a good breakfast we start the ascent very early to avoid the strong midday sun and after crossing beautiful forests of low jungle, we will reach the village of Marampata (2850 m.) where we will rest a little and begin a great journey to the 3033 m. Choquequirao camp. Before reaching the camp we will be able to see part of the enormous archaeological complex. Once installed the camp, we will go to the same archaeological complex that we will walk with tranquility and the guide will give us all the scopes of the place in the beautiful central square of the complex, we will have time to visit more places, see the majestic canyon of the Apurimac from the upper areas of the complex, see orchids (depending on the season), birds of the place and of course enjoy the place at sunset. We will return to the camp in the afternoon for dinner.  5 - 8 hs. Approximately.

DAY 3: SUNCHUPATA - CHOQUEQUIRAO - CHIQUISQA

After breakfast, we start the descent by the same way but this time after crossing the Apurimac River, we will climb up to Cocamasana camp (2350 m.). Like the first day, we will rest in Chikisca waiting for the sun to go down to go up to the camp because this area is quite hot where the sun hits almost all day to the whole valley precisely where the trekking trail runs. It is important to drink plenty of fluids during these days and follow the instructions of our guide. 6 - 8 hs. Approximately.

DAY 4: CHIQUISQA - CAPULIYOC - CACHORA

Ascent to Capuliyoc where our vehicle will be waiting for us to return to Cusco and finish this magnificent trekking with so much history to know. 3 hs. Approximately.
